June 9: Day 6: Smuggler Cove
The Rhythms of Smuggler’s Cove
Last night was incredibly calm, leading into a day of classic variable weather—a little rain, a little sun, and a little wind all taking turns.
In between the weather shifts, I sat down for my daily piano practice. I realize I haven't mentioned this yet, but I have a piano on board! Keeping up with it every day has been such a peaceful routine.
When the weather cleared, Artemus, Greg and I headed over to the little island for a walk. It was a spectacular hike, filled with the quiet beauty of the woods. Artemus was the perfect trail companion and handled it beautifully, stepping right into the dinghy without any hesitation when it was time to row back to Lil’ Ollie.
Between the island trek and starting Iris’s video-guided body-weight exercises, I definitely got my movement in today. A few of the exercises are a bit tight in the cabin, but I managed to adapt them. I didn't do the whole list today, but it’s a start—tomorrow is a new day.
Tonight, the cabin smells wonderful as a simple pasta dinner cooks, ready to be enjoyed with a side salad and a glass of red wine.
